WELCOME TO THE RCP, Inc.® WATER TEST KITS

WHY TEST YOUR WATER

RCP, Inc.® is dedicated to protecting you and your family from illness caused by contaminants in your drinking water. We want to help you make the proper decision in the selection of your water treatment system. We at RCP, Inc.® recommend that your water be tested once each year as conditions affecting your water supply may change.

For the following reasons, we are making these tests available:

A. The increase in requests by residential customers for the analysis of their drinking water.
B. Increased awareness by the public of the dangers of pollution such as high levels of lead in drinking water, rust-producing compounds from well water, hardness, etc.
C. The unavailability of this service to the general public until RCP, Inc.® introduced it.
D. Health Departments typically only check for bacteria contamination and not for chemical contamination.

CAUSES OF POLLUTION

Water goes through many changes before reaching your home. It may have started as rain, picking up pollutants as it fell. Water seeping into the ground can dissolve organic and inorganic substances such as Carbonates, Sulfates, and Volatile Organic Compounds. These substances can be carried into wells, reservoirs, rivers and lakes. All of these contaminants can be part of your tap water. For example, rain water washes synthetic organic substances such as insecticides, fertilizers and other chemicals into your water supply. Industrial by-products such as acids, caustics, hydrocarbons and solvents are released into the air and brought to earth by rain. Then they become part of the groundwater on its way to your tap.

Water has the ability to dissolve almost anything with which it comes in contact. All natural waters contain elements other than hydrogen and oxygen. But these dissolved substances are usually invisible, tasteless, and odorless. Because of the increase in world population, America's industrial revolution, and our efforts to improve our way of life, we have developed different types of chemicals. These maximize the use of our farm lands and improve our ability to manufacture consumer products. Many of these chemicals, however find their way into water supplies.
